Elantra GT

Someone in charge at Hyundai must have cajones to put "GT" on the Elantra, but I'll admit, I'm intrigued.
It claims to put out 140hp from a 2 liter I4, and about 130 lb-ft of torque. I couldn't find a curb weight for it.
But, what is it? A wagon, a 5-door, a lift-back sedan? What do you call that? It reminds me of a Saab, especially from the back.
Any thoughts?

Well, Hyundai is calling it a hatchback, for what is is worth i think that it is a pretty cool little car, I have a 97 Elantra GLS that i use for my daily driver. It is not much, but if you go to places like www.sharkracing.com you can find fun little things to make your Hyundai a little more fun, and better looking as well :D

from what ive heard, the gt has the european elantra suspension (not the regular trash suspension we in america get) so it should handle pretty good. i think it also comse standard with leather, cd player, power everything and i dont know what else.

Donīt you dare call it a Saab! Itīs actually a 5 door hatchback with more trunk than average of a hatchback;) Anywise I dont like the styling but the features are interesenting for the price. The model year 96 97 98 was much nicer. It should be called, I donīt know, maybe Elantra GS, or FX, but please not GT, save that to Mustangs or Subarus.

Does anybody know of a website where i can find some.
O ya the car is great especially for the price.

http://www.sharkracing.com Click on the banner in the middle of the page then it will take you in the the main area of the site!!! You should find some really cool stuff for your elantra, I own a '97 Elantra GLS that is my daily driver and they have lots of kick ass stuff for your elantra! Hey one question, Im guessing that you have an Elantra GT, I was woundering how you like it because I was thinking about getting one because my 97 has got some miles on it and it is time to trade up, I looked at the specs on it and it is the same as my 97 but the 5 door look really cool! Let me know what you think about the car, i would love to know. Because right now it is between that or wait for a 2003 Tiburon!

Shark Racing has a bunch of cool stuff, but I need more. We need to get the big players on this car. AEM, Jackson Racing, GReddy, Suspention Techniques, and so on!! :angryfire

Just picked up a 2002 Kia Spectra GS, it is also a 5 door hatchback. I really like the 5 door hatchbacks that Hyundai/Kia came up with. The Spectra GS has a 1.8 liter 16 valve 127 HP 108 foot pounds of torque. I found out from a review that the suspension was designed by Lotus.
Elantra GTs have better wheels than the Spectra GS. It has 14 inch wheels instead of your 15s or 16s.
Will post photos later!

I like the lights better on the Spectra GS over the Elantra GT. I think that they look more Acura like. But they are very cool on the Elantra, kinda like those on the new Impalas or Monte Carlos.
