GT-R or Not?

Hey guys, I stumbled on this page today:

So what is the problem with it, you ask?
I dont think it's a GT-R :D I think it's a GTS. Pay close attention to the rear pictures, and then compare them with these:

What do you think? Do you think its a GT-R or GTS?

I was trying to convince my friend that something was wrong with that picture, when we compared it to the Apex'i GT-R.

If it drove by I'm sure no one would be able to tell, but standing still at a light or in a side-by-side picture comparision you can't miss it.

Then again my friend does have a 93' Stealth that he put 5 (count em) 5 F(*&$ PIN STRIPES that he put on himself!!!

As much as I love the Skyline, I don't see a difference. I posted a pic of an actual GT-R and compared both. They look identical. Is it because of the exhaust? I think it's a GT-R.

Could someone tell me the exact differences??

I'm TOPRPM.com webmaster. This car is a GT-R33. I wondering why do you think it's GTS. Do you think some one can spend that much on the engine can't buy a GTR !!!!!

hm...I don't see the difference either. I say GTR

My reason for thinking it's a GT-S is that from what I recall the GT-S was "rounder" (is that a word:p ) than the GT-R. Now of course I could be wrong as I haven't seen this car in real life. On closer inspection it may be. But again I recall that the GT-R has a more agressive and less rounded edge than the GT-S.

As for for the idea "Do you think some one can spend that much on the engine can't buy a GTR !!!!!". I have seen people do a lot of dumb things. aka riceboys. One guy bought a base model Acura/Honda Integra, had the car painted yellow and rebadged to look like an Integra Type R.:confused: Of course in the end the idiot could have gone out and bought a REAL Type-R for less than what he spent, so yes I think someone would and could go buy a GT-S and rebadge it to look like a GT-R.

Why? Go ask them.:eek:

More pictures and especially videos would be great.

BTW: TOPRPM, nice website no matter what the car turns out to be. Still a nice job.:D

I think the biggest reason for thinking this car is GTS because the front grill was removed. I will post newer pics with the front grill and I will try to arrange a race betwean the GT-R and a bike like 900CBR or R1...

I enjoy the site very much. The videos are very cool. But are you guys only interested about moding Japanese cars? I think it would be cool if we got to see some European cars. BTW, that GT-R vs. Bike thing sounds very nice also. :D Anyway, it really did look like a GTS to me. lol :D

i can't notice anything on those pictures to suggest that it's a gts... without seeing the car in flesh i'd say it's a gtr....

and those guards look pumped enough for me... if someone noticed anything ??? please point it out...

Look at the third picture from the right in the bottom group. You can see the fender flare pretty easily.....AND you can see the bend in the fuel filler door.....dead giveaway. GTS fuel filler door is flat. If it is a copy...it's a damn good one!.....although...the intercooler IS crooked!.......OOH got another one too.....the ABS solenoid is on the wrong side and is the wrong type......

DAMN! You are good! Now where the hell is that bowing down in awe emoticon?!

Seems very weird to use a non GTR but it has been done. Here in NZ we have a R33 GTS-4 with GTR engine, guards etc etc only original thing is the chassis and roof. :D

Well I say if it was a GTSt, it sure as hell isn't any more! Give me that GTSt over a stock GTR any day :D Well the concecus over in SDU seems to be GTR, with a few votes for GTSt 'cause it is from Japan "the place of money" but I think that any one who could get whats his name from Top Secret to tune his car would have a GTR. What did R33 say he cost? Like 25k US, just to tune your car, hell you could get an R32 GTR in NZ for that much us moolah.

Some very interesting things also were missed. The car is or has been converted to LHD, if you look closely at the first picture behind the extremely large turbo you will see the brake booster. Hence the reason for the ABS to be on the wrong side as well. I have no idea who did the conversion but what a tosser to do that to a GTR. Yes it is a GTR if you look at the guards, gas filler cover, and head lights it gives it away. If it was a GTS25-T then someone has spent a huge amount of money to convert it over.
Graphing on the proper body pannels and such is a very expensive propersition.

I would say it is a 95 or 96 R33GTR Vspec. The choice of colour is horrific to say the least!

well i only saw the pics that was posted up and i thought that it was a gt-s. since in that pic. the fenders didn't flare out like how a gt-r's would. but since someone else already said that those flenders really do flare out, then i think its a gt-r.

the hideous banana coulour makes it hard to truely define the lines of the car. And makes it hard to notice how flared the rear guards are.

As for the GTS's being Rounder than the GTR's there is not much diference aside from the rear guards which are still reasonably rounded.

But why would you shift places on the master cylinder and the ABS solenoid when they are almost identical in size regardless of which side of the car your driving from. The fabrication of brake lines would be ridiculous! All body panels on the GTR and GTS are pull and replace, so if you get ahold of the panels, it's pretty easy. They do it all the time over here in Japan.

Well I can't really tell the difference either. The only way is to get the serial number from the car. If it was a GTS it has been so severly modified you couldn't tell the difference. One thing the intercooler is crooked and that oil cooler has to go somewhere else. It looks just plain ugly.

Is it just me or that Yelow one is too ricey?

The yellow colour kind of conceals the bulginess of the guards. I'm pretty sure it's a GTR. The engine's RB26, and I'd be surprised to see one that mean transplanted into a GTS25t. Also the headlights (not the cover, I mean the lights themselves) look like GTR lights.

You guys are all nuts! How can you challenge the fact that is IS a gtr? No one in there right mind would spend that much money on a rwd gts! One huge giveaway was the lip created near the trunklid from where the factory gtr spoiler was. The gts wouldnt have that. But the LHD conversion is quite strange. i didnt think it was possible to do. But i guess anything is possible with the right coin. Still pretty sweet if you ask me.

I think its a GTS, I know of the person that owns the black one and I have seen it before. Looking at the pics of the yellow one you can see the rear fenders do not flare out enough. Also by looking at the plate its in the middle east like Abu-Dabi, or Bahrain. If so then the cost to make that a fake GTR would be, cheap parts and even cheaper labor.:alien:
