stillen makes one. it is $258 list price, which means you can get it for less somewhere else.

I heard that all stillen does is get it from another sr20de engine, cause they have the same tranny, like the sentra or ultima? is this true?

ive known a few people who've just cut the shifter down by a few inches and put on an aftermarket gear knob, wouldnt this give the desired effect? afterall, the lateral movement would be reduced? because the length of the shaft is reduced.

Stillen does not use a stock shifter from another application. That is false.
Kevin, a "short throw shifter" isnt the same thing as a stock shifter which is cut down. It is longer on the part beneath the ball of the shifter which results in shorter throws and quicker shifts. Cutting down a stock shifter will just make it harder for you to shift. ;)

cheers brian, i know what you mean, just not many companies do them over here, so people cheat. i presume that by cutting down the shaft, it would also increase the force require to change gear due to less leverage, so its not the best alternative, but people do do it.
b-b00gie
02-20-2002, 08:42 PM
Yeah... people do that here too.
But you are correct the extra effort required to shift will make your shifts even slower. The point of a real short shifter aka quick shifter, is to provide quicker shifts.
BTW you can get a good one for about $100 to $150 US... the deals vary throughout the seasons. If you'd like I can help get you one to the UK ;)

doesn't pacesetter make one? and another company..Was it B&M?? well one of those...and some are even adjustable...I know there was another company but can't remember the name...

or at least they dissapeared..... everyone is right p11gt cutting the shifter only makes the throw harder, not recommended, only for show and decreases performance. The adjustable i found was made by a place called smc performance products in santa clarita, but they seemed to have dissapeared into thin air, i cant reach them anymore, their not listed too. but i found a place that makes the short shifter for p11's and it's from B & M , stock number is #45087, it's not adjustable though but it's half the price of $$$tillen. Not sure how much the through is but i know smc's was 2 inch throw, instead of the stock 6 inch, BIIG difference, it also will help in those critical seconds of racing, get you to the next gear allllot faster, that's when you'll know that it makes a big difference. Used to have a gsr, and once i put in that short shifter i fell in love!! but it will take you a while to get used to the driving, what will also make a big difference with that is when you get your racing clutch, another thing for those critical seconds of racing!!!.... :p :P :P
ACTUALLY, did not check if the B & M was adjustable, but i think it is....well i will find out for you, getting it next week on thursday, tried this thursday (tomarrow, but my distributor said it was too late to get)

pacesetter used to make short shifters for the g's but only p10, after the p10's they stopped (have no idea why!?!!) but i think you still can get them for the p10's...

If you guys were to suggest a short shifter kit for a p10 which one would it be? Also what would be the best way to get it to New Zealand?

Whats the difference between adjustable and non-adjustable? Also, which good short-throw shifter is around 100-150 dollars?

nevermind, i know the difference, but SMC i was told went out of business. Whats the difference between the Pacesetter and the B&M short throw, besides $100???

Dang man, if they went out of business, that means i talked to them right before they left!!! damn, i was wondering why the manager was talking to me for such a long time when i called (sounded upset too)!?!? I talked to him in december, and he told that he was coming out with a new shifter for january, then in january i called and they were gone!! f#$k, he was going to sell me his other short shifter (Old mode supposidly) for 80 bucks... Man I guess I lost my chance....
I think (just a guess) that B&M is adjustable and pacesetter is not....
both pretty expensive, especially for a short shifter...

No, I know pacesetter is adjustable and I found it for $75 and I don't know about B&M but i've seen it for $185. I think i'm going with the pacesetter, but i have not decided where to buy from, I can't find any other place that has it for cheap.

torque direct supply one, but it's 220 quid (US$312) so the stillen one may not be so bad. I hate the way UK stuff cost so much more. I might have to take my primera out to the us for a while to get everything done at this rate.

Does anybody know if the pacesetter short throw from 89-94 Maxima/86-90 Sentra will fit the p10. Because there is also one for the 95-96 Max/91-98 Sentra. Whats the difference? Will it fit 91 G?

Just spoke to a pacesetter representative on the short shifter and he said that he only has it available for the 240, nissan upto 98. Fitment for the P11 is not yet confirmed. Cost is $89 US.

Not sure but before SMC went out of business, i asked them specifically if the SE-R and Sentra short shifters fit the P11, he said that they do because they use the same tranny, and i also asked B & M and they said the same thing, B & M said that they use the same stock # for the Sentra as for the P11.... Still have doubts though, hasen't anyone tried this set up yet!?!?
King of DUB-C
03-07-2002, 01:48 PM
I believe that the p11 & p10 are the same as well as a sentra and a 200sx, the question is whether it matters which year sentra! I know there are two different ones but it pre 90's and post 90's
G20TurboVisionCrew
03-07-2002, 02:26 PM
All I know is when i called B&M they said they checked it on the computer and they said that the 99 p11's have the same stock #'s as these do:
45087 200SX '95-'98
45087 Pulsar GTiR '91-'99
45087 Sentra '91-'99
Now if I knew 100% sure that this set up works i would have already gotten them, but i'm not sure how much i can trust a sales associate on the phone. His statement was "I am PRETTY SURE that the application would fit a 1999 G20 because they have the same stock #" Pretty sure? what the hell does that mean? yeeesss, or noooo? simple answer he did'nt give me....
So i guess this is another part i will be waiting for.... DAMN SMC!!! Why did you leave!!!???

great idea, brian.
i have done some snooping, and the best price i can find on the net so far is $140 for the b&m shifter. the pacesetter is harder to find, and seems less complete. jc whitney has it for about 60 bucks.
for the b&m:
www.summitracing.com
www.jegs.com
look for the sentra shifter

All front drive nissans use the same syle shifter and fit the same . since they don't actually go directly into the tranny they can all use the same shifter the 240 uses a different shifter
