Hey guys, I just got done installing my KYB AGX shock with my eibach prokit... I have a 98 civic ex.... my problem is the rear shock nut will not tighten... the shock shaft spins and the nut will not tighten. I tried an impact gun and stuff like that. when I push down on my car the shaft wants to push the rubber gromets up into the trunk. Please help.

I had the same problem with my tokicos but all you have to do is to apply some pressure on it and then spin slowly...it worked for me :alien:

you have to use a smaller wrench on the top of the strut and then use a 14mm open ended wrench to tighten the nut....you can't simply use a socket wrench to tighten it

I think i used a pair of vise grips on the shaft to keep mine from spinning

the install is easy, it takes me about 2 hours with a buddy

like madtown said there should be an area at the threads where it is filed down on opposite sides. just use a smaller wrench or vice grips in the area only. using vice grips or anything else on the smooth piston surface can knick it and it can tear a seal and damage your strut. and the wont warranty it for that.
