While they are becoming more common, they aren't like those piss-shit R6's that everyone and their grandmother own (present company excluded). :p If I see another damn R6 I might kill someone.
Besides, the stock Busa is a)restricted b)still not perfectly aerodynamic c)naturally aspirated (I know a kid with a turbo busa... it does power wheelies in 5th gear... I don't speak from personal experience, but I've got sources). Once you put on a more aerodynamic body "kit", bore it out (there is one that is now up to 1661cc's that is I think over 200mph), and do all sorts of other crazy shyte, it becomes a whole new bike despite where it started out.

We're talking fastest production motorcycle in the world. It doesn't say this in the title but it's implied. Sure it can be made to go much faster than stock but you could do that to any other motorcycle and get similiar results couldn't you? The point is, for a production motorcycle, it was and still is pretty amazing even if it's too common on the street.

I'll tell you why not everybody is looking at the bike, that looks like san francisco or some other really expensive big city, I visited my sister there and why would you look at the hayabusa when probably 2 cars bhind him theres an NSX, a 911 turbo, a new supra, a modena, etc... The guy on the other side of the benz and the close guy in the blue shirt seee one of those ahead :grinyes: . I saw SO many nice cars that I havent even seen more than a couple in this entire state i live in so far. and yellow maranello, someone is looking at it, he took the pic

It's a tie between the Hayabusa and the ZX-12. They are both restricted to 186mph though, so un-restricted who knows...
The quickest one to reach 186mph would win the title I guess.

I always heard the hayabusa was the fastest in top speed but the GSXR1000 was quicker in the 1/4 mile, is this true?
also the R1 backseat does suck, but nothing like the 600RR back seat, I swear all it is is a vinyl covered plastic seat, the R1 at least has some padding. I like my seat though, not real soft like a gixxer but it is pretty nice top sit on.

The new Gix 1k is supposed to be only marginally heavier than the 600, so I'm sure it has some nice acceleration. The Hayabusa, while very aerodynamic, powerful, etc.... is still somewhat sport-tourer in there somewhere... I mean, seriously.... it has a REAL back seat on it (when you replace the cowl) How many "purebred" supersports have that?

Come on, not that attractive! :nono: On the whole I've gotta say that Italian bikes are way better looking than the average jap bike. Especially Ducati's, the 916 is by far the most recognizeable sportbike ever (or so says every mag that has written about them) They are all different and unique designs that dont need flashy paint and stickers like most jap bikes. And fun in the twisties? There's no way that any jap bike can out handel any MV Agusta, or any of the Ducati Superbikes. Thats what their built for, thats what people buy them for, unique looks, handeling, and history. Your average Italian bike (minus the MV's) have much less hp than their similar displacement jap bikes, they're all handeling.

The 916 and the F4 are the most beautiful motorcycles ever made as far as most people are concerned. Not only that but they are considered some of the best handling bikes too. They were not designed with outright top speed in mind. Now that the F4 Tamburini has been unveiled there shouldn't be any more jokes/complaints about italian bikes being slow.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think Ducati's are some of the most ugly bikes out there. And I hope you don't think any stock Italian bike can keep up with a gsx750r on the track or off (if both riders are same level). When you are talking about supersport bikes there is a big difference, they are many more Ducati tuners than jap bike tuners so ofcourse odds are that they will have higher rankings. But then how does Honda fit in?
Do you like Harleys? because you would be buying one for the near exact same reason you would by a Italian bike. And Ducati's handling was just a myth, everybody thought that the single-sided swing arm was a big part of the handling abilities, yet Ducati has now adopted a regular swingarm for its sportsbikes, wonder why.

I believe the original topic was fastest at production... that means "highly modified" anything doesn't REALLY count. Besides, I know of a Hayabusa that is bored out to 1661cc that is working on the top speed. He's well over 200mph, and that's ACTUAL physical testing. But back (again) to the topic at hand... the Busa has been the fastest straight from the production line.

Can anyone think of any other fast STOCK non sport bikes with in the last 10 years or so????
