how'd ya get it to clear the automatic seatbelts?

JDM 4g4D

simple, unbolt the seat belts from the seat and FLIP them the opposite way so they offset more towards the seat rather than the armrest.

Right click on the "red x" and go down to properties. There will be an address, highlight that address and copy it. Paste the address in your address bar and hit enter, it will show you the picture.

JDM4G4D, isnt that the picture of the EF that was in last months Super Street? I loved that car. By the way, center console looks great!

to the best of my knowledge, nobody has ever done it sucessfully before this guy!

And i was only referring to the 90-91 4 doors seeing as the 88-89 have normal shoulder belts.

Well now ya kno its possible. Guess all us 4g4d owners should go out and get some consoles for ourselves too. Cant let them hb owners have all the fun now can we?

Melt
08-13-2003, 03:04 PM
hb owners will never be able to comfortably seat 3 girls aside from the driver, so there is no way they can have "all the fun"

Dang.. I still wonder why no one with a 4g4d ever figured out you could just turn the auto belts around and the console would clear. And how long has this forum been up for again?

WHOA! excellent work...:bigthumb:

Got any shots of the seat belt roll detail???? C'mon yo!! that looks awesome but us pic hungry peeps need more!!!!! :icon16:

The 90 Integra seats now in my 4G4D are a little different tho..I don't know if I can just unbolt them and turn them around...I seem to remember that they wouldn't come off easily and were part of the seat's structure/rail, etc....I know the seat belt roll area on Civic seat I took out and the Integra seat were different...I wish I could remember :bloated:

havent got a chance to take more pics yet cause my digi camera is not holding a charge for shit. but ill get some up soon.

seatbelt rolls flipped is only temporary for now, getting racing seats with harnesses or del sol seats with custom belt holes.

Seat belts still work perfect. trust me, i tested them with a 65 mph full stomp on brakes. Seat belts still lock like a charm. Cool thing was i slammed the brakes on the wet road at 65 and my car stopped in like 2 seconds with absolutely no slide or lock. Oh ya i have stock brakes with falken azenis. ask VelocityCivic91 :grinyes:

Jay eS Iye

any problems with them hitting you in the side being turn in like that? and couldn't you also cut the console to fit the seatbelts?

l2ice rocketz
08-19-2003, 05:33 PM
You just took off the seat belts, and switched sides right? Im asking this because I was taking apart mine today and in addition to the wires attached to the auto-seat belt harness, I saw a black and green/white wire. Are those 2 wires important?

JDM 4g4D
08-19-2003, 09:43 PM
you dont switch seatbelts from driverside to passenger side or and vice versa....... :headshake
the wire plug on the passenger side does not unclip.

You just undo the seat belt from the seat and flip it around and bolt it back up. Now when u do this only 1 of the 2 bolts gos back together due to the shape of the seatbelt bracket base. the way the base of the bracket bolts back on is still really good and strong, when u do it you will see.

And no, the seat belt thing doesnt even touch you when cornering and stuff.

my auto seatbelts dont work for shit ... i slammed on the brakes the other day and just slid forward ... oh well belts are overrated.

l2ice rocketz
08-20-2003, 01:53 PM
So i guess the left side of the auto belts has to be naked without the plastic cover to fit the console (meaning the seat belt roll is visible)?

*edit*
One last thing, does anyone have a pic of an auto teg console? Because thats what I need, and I was wondering if it also fits right into an auto 4g4d?

JDM 4g4D

u can probably put the other half of the cover on, i didnt even try.

What kind of harnesses are they, and how are you going to bolt them down? Where are you puttin them? I mean, I want to do racing seats in my car, however, i know I cant keep the same belts, so id want to get harnesses, but how can I do that, without renderring my backseat useless? Any ideas, or what are your plans?

Well i tried putting on the other cover, it makes the screw impossible to fit in, so i left it alone. Guess I'll hafta figure out another way to cover up the ghetto parts. But yea, the spacing is far better now then when it was turned around. Wonder why no one ever thought of this.

Oh yes, btw, Im getting my Integ Center Console from T-Mo because shes just soo nice like that. :iceslolan Yea, I guess I'll post up pics on how well it works out for me. Cant wait.. cupholders and a place to put my bored right arm when I'm driving. :smokin: But yea, I think that the center console just has to be ghetto rigged with the cover to the seat belt off. Guess thats the 4g4d price to fit in with all the hb's. Heh

l2ice rocketz
08-22-2003, 05:43 PM
JDm4g4d I got a question about the Integ Console. Like I noticed in your pics that the console part around your radio is the one that's already in the car right? So how does the ash tray and cig lighter in the bottom half (the integ console) fit over it? Does it just basically cover it up?

mr_t_00
08-22-2003, 09:56 PM
i jus put my console in too, and i hava auto witha boot now, haha. did u have ne troubles putten it in? how long did it take u? it took me like 3 hours, but it wuz like 110, and i took like 20 breaks.

The bottom half of the original console comes off and the teg console hooks up to it. There are a couple of screws on your orig. console that you have to take loose.

I know this is kinda old, but who here with a 4g4d has already went ahead and put in an integra console already? I'm getting mine this saturday I think, So I'll post pics of when Im doing it for a How To for the 4g4d's. But if anyone has done it, any problems while doing it?

Jay eS Iye
12-18-2003, 09:05 AM
thought i'd bring this up from the dead as I am putting mien in today. oh and i may have an extra one for sale, couple smaff scuffs, the armrest has been redone so its cloth and not the stock fabric and no ash tray but those are easy to find. probably $65 plus shipping, let me know

Jay eS Iye
12-18-2003, 10:19 PM
well for the most part its in, but i have a couple questions. would i be best off cementing/gluing the piece aroudn the radio to the front piece of the console? also, i grabbed the center bracket, not the one at the end of the console, how can i keep it bolted and supported?

and the biggie, i couldn't figure out how to just flip the seatbelts around, so i ended up swapping sides (and just cut the sensor from the drivers side) but i have a problem. the seatbelt i wedged against the console, is that a problem with just turning them around? it won't retract at all. and if i just do it the other way and turn them around, which of the two holes on the seatbelt assembly do i use and on which bolt? anyone who has done this should know.
