Hi,
Whenever I start my car the engine sorta backfires like the timing is off.
what is the correct spark plug order on the distributor.
Also when looking at the front of the engine the order is 1,2,3, and 4 right?
Thanks

From the front of the engine, the order is 4, 3, 2, 1 (left to right). On the distributor, the order is this:

Hi,
Aiight now that I got the correct spark plug order the car no longer backfires when I try starting it.
But it still wont turn on.
Its cranks and cranks but still wont turn on.
Im pretty sure I wired MPFI correctly, in fact im almost sure.
I doubled checked everything just to be sure and its right.
I put starter fluid in the spark plugs to see if it would help start.
It helped a little cause I heard the car cough and then not start again.
Its like it wants to start badly but cant exactly get to it.
Could it be a bad battery, I have it hooked to a jump starter so its gettin plenty of voltage.
Thanks

What have you checked so far aside from the wiring?
Is the fuel pump working etc?

Make sure your belt timing is correct.

yes the fuel pump is definetly workin because i remeber when i would turn the ignition the fuel line would shoot fuel.
What about hoses could they keep it from starting?
How different are they when u take a DPFI manifold out and put a MPFI manifold on?
Thanks

Can anybody give me some ideas as to why my car wont start.
Whenever I turn the ignition even with a jumpstart it just coughs and sputters but never idles or starts.
I get tommorow off from work so im gonna spend all day and night workin on it.
I gotta get this fixed B4 school starts monday or else I have no ride.
My mom and friends are suggesting I get a mobile mechanic to fix it.
But I dont have the money for that and I bet they arent cheap.
I checked for spark and all 4 wires have spark so the ignitor is workin properly.
But the sparkplugs when I took them out are completly black at the tips.
Could it be a problem?
Also, spark plug wires are in the correct positions.
THanks

Yeah, I agree check your timing (belt and ignition). That sounds like the problem.
Do you have a new fuel filter on the car?
If your talking about vacuum hoses, mostly they would prevent the car from running well, not prevent it from running at all. I also check Majestic Honda for the fuel pump, it is the same part for both DPFI and MPFI.

since you have spark, the next thing i would check is whether fuel is reaching the combustion chamber. how are your fuel injectors? you can test them by pulling them out and see if they are squirting fuel when you crank the engine. be careful though and make sure you are not near an open flame :bigthumb:
