damn dude, the KA24's a pretty bulletproof motor, is 91 even a DOHC, I guess it is. You must have hit those shifts pretty damn good, driving a K series is a little awkward at first I've been there, all the power's in the mid range RPMs.
You planning on any SR20 action or are you just sticking by the faithful truck engine?

Thats pretty damn fast for a NA KA24, considering its an iron truck engine.

yes, i won , but by an asshair, im using a kaaz 2-way lsd that i got from autoimaging.com for around 900.00 shipped, hehe more than i paid for the car...the engine is the ka24de dohc 16 valve 155stock hp, i am loving the fidanza , its a great flywheel, the engine was lightly tuned by my buddy sean who used to have a strict track 240 that ran mid 11's with a rb25det (so he says) but i think i believe him, even though he doesnt have any proof

not N/A that time was using juice, i am typically anti-nitrous, but i dont really care about this engine, i have another one we are going to do a KA-T setup with as soon as i can afford to do so (could take a while)

sr20det have plenty of torque. My boy is putting out 217 lbs to the ground. HE has upgraded fuel and a chipped ecu on his jdm sr20det.
Anyways good run:bigthumb:

i thought the 180sx had the ca18det?
anyway, excuse me for dogging on the sr20, , that is just my PERSONAL opinion on that angine. i think if i had the same amount of money that a full sr20det swap would cost to sink into my ka24de, i would be able to get better numbers, plus i ahve heard that the stock internals are good for up to around 450hp (might be bullshit, but have heard it from a couple of boards including this one and 240sxforums.com) anyway, im not trying to flame on anyone who owns one, and likes it, its just my personal opinion:biggrin:

I wanted a 240 for a long time, but if I got one I was just going to build the KA24. The SR20 does make far less torque than the KA24 in stock terms but I'm not sure what the potential of both engines is. They're both damn good engines, basically what it comes down to is one will rev higher than the other.

Originally yes, later models went to the SR20DET. 450 is acceptable, the SR20 is a beast of a motor and it's not unheard of in Japan :)
