Ok i want to know if anyone has one of these or if they have used one.. I need feedback, or if you know of a cheaper, better quality camera that would be great. I'm not willing to spend more than $200 canadian. I found the a201 for $100 canadian, out the box when the retail price is around $250 (not sure canadian or american). I want to use it mostly for cars.. car shows and such. If somone could help me and not go on about this being a noob thread, that would be great

I suggest buying nothing under a 3 megapixel camera. I've got a Kodak DX6340 and love it. Its 3.1 megapixel, 4x optical zoom, its around $329. You wont find a good digital for under $300 in the stores. I suggest either Kodak or Olympus for the cheaper cameras. Also check out www.dpreview.com

Get as many MP as possible, but becareful.
In the computer industry (digi cams can be considered along those lines) there's trade-offs with price factors (not so much nowadays for some computer components but none the less its still presence.
A generalization is normally:
Kodak - maybe too bright/white
Nikon - a bit red
Olympus - not too bad but expensive
Sony - just normal, nothing fancy
etc
try this:
http://www.imaging-resource.com/
over there they have cameras which picture sample is there, this way compare what u want so u know what your in for.
Things also like memory storage type, battery type/life, mainly ongoing thing like those are more important.
In digital cameras, u get for what u pay for.

I have a Fuji Finepix A201 and it does an awesome job for the money. Yes there are better out there of course but I don't plan to make a career out of my photography. The only problem I had was the software that came with the camera was a little shoddy, and the memory cards are exclusive to Fuji, which cost's more and are only available at Fuji cam dealers. Other than that great little cam for the price.

I have that camera and I bought it for $120 U.S at a K-Mart Going out of business sale. I use it for my models and have very few complaints. Spend the extra $$ and at least get the Fuji Finepix 2650; it has Optical zoom on it. Other than that, the A201 is not a bad camera. Check my website (http://www.geocities.com/tonioseven) for samples of pics.
