Here is the Initial D Sileighty. Done some work on the body, finished the interior and painted the rims.
I just have to clean up the body a alittle and it would be ready for painting.

I need some help here.. Which colour should I paint for the Sileighty? 110 or 65?
The right one is 110, left is 65.

I preferred 65..

one more thing, you must quickly decide the colour, or you wouldn't have time to paint it for this Sunday's meet.. Raining heavily these few days..

WOW! More progress pics!! Sileighty, how I wish I could get my hands on a kit like this, closest I've come to an Initial D kit is the Yellow EK-9.

I just sand the front a little.. Reprimed and it would be ready for painting tomorrow.. But I am still undecided for the colour.. :1zhelp:

110! Is this the 1/32 scale sileighty or the 1/24.

I've only seen the 1/32 version on ebay. I've never seen the 1/24 version if there is one.

It's hard to see a diffrence :sly: I like 65 though :D

Forhod
06-25-2003, 10:46 AM
Yeah.. I tried pretty hard to capture the difference.. but still.. it is very hard to see the difference between the two colours.

Anyway, I sand abit of the front. I'll prime it and spray it tomorrow.. but still.. I need more comments on the colour.. :icon16: Thanks for the comments so far.

The true color of the Sileighty for Initial D is Impact-blue.

110 is a character color (Blue with very little red) purple-ish blue, it is perfect for my Gundams; 65 is Indy Blue for automotive.
If you want a close match with the model box art color, use 110. If you want to match the video game/anime color, go with 65.

My suggestion is: go for what you want to do, instead of what is supposed to be done:biggrin:

hrm.. ok nice work man :) nice choice of model.. i ordered the kit and my LHS should have it in a week or two.. then i can work on it. i won't do it to initial D standards, no no. i'm gonna do something my own. i rarely see a completed sileighty.. and i'd like to see this one :) i see by some of the finished models i HAVE seen that i will need to do some work to make the kit look dandy.. some things are rough and wel.. yanno typical fujimi. could you let me know any big problems you run into? like warps in plastic or anything like that.. ? so i kinda know what i am getting into. it's been a while since i've worked on a kit.. so i need to be prepared :)

I love Sileightys, is this Fujimi like the Initial D FC? With that stupid suspension? If it doesn't this is going on my to-do list! I would of said go for Mica Red

rsbousquet : So far, I got no problem.. just that the Initial D Sileighty have a different front bumper.. Fujumi just give you another bumper and let you fit on. That's the only think I don't like bout the kit.

Mopar Muscle Maniac : This is my first Initial D kit.. so the suspension, I got no idea but I am doing it soon.

chipanggo & mech0t0 : Thanks!

Hmm.. I seems to have lost the decals.. man.. need to find now.. :x

Yeah.. It can be finished by Sunday.. But I actually wanna finish today for the Teens Comp.. But.. My luck has run out. I tried to spray clearcoat on a rainy day.. Yes, rainy day. After I spray the clear, it frost!!!  Guess I have to give the competition a skip now.

I'm praying for you that tomorrow is a bright sunny day.. coz i am also waiting to spray my gloss..

btw how long btw each coat..?? i planning to spray only 2 coats.. coz i am moving house tomorrow.. die die muz finish my models first..

Forhod
06-27-2003, 02:26 PM
About 15 minutes.. sometimes a little longer.
I suggest for your clear.. use 2 mist coat and 1 heavy coat..
just 2 coats looks a little tougher to get a better finish IMO.

Compound.. Hmm.. I never use it before so I cannot say anything bout it... But I guess as long after your clear has hardened. It should be alright to use compound. But remember, compound rubs the clear. So I think you need 2 heavy coat of clear if you don't wanna risk of rubbing through the clear to the paint. :icon16:
Hope I am correct~ :bloated:

Sunny day today but not very. My side is a little cloudy! :frown: I get the clear done before the rain come.

wouldn't compound and wax be more shiny than clear coat?

Forhod
06-28-2003, 03:16 AM
Maybe.. I am not sure since I haven't try wax and compound before..

Anyway, here is the Sileighty with fresh coat of clear. Not very happy with the paint because of dust.
The Sun is hot and shiny today!!

Had the same problem with my FC, stupid Fujimi suspension setups, they really get to me sometimes!

Forhod
06-28-2003, 11:50 AM
bah humbug : I guess can't.. Cause I got problem with the stupid clear glue. It just won't come out!!

njh : 2 mist coats and 2 heavy coats.

Mopar Muscle Maniac : This teaches us that we should be gentle when comming to Fujimi's suspension stuffs. Guess I have learned. Fujimi plastic seems to be not very strong.. :bloated:

Rtuned : Tomorrow. ;)

About the Ride Height.. Hmm, the height can be always adjusted since the front is not fix. Because I cut away the stock bumper and replace it with a correct bumper.
I don't think I can enter the contest, cause I am late! Perhaps next one.. :)

It should be done tomorrow after some cleaning up and attaching the clear parts.
