So I've read about people turbo charging their KA24DE engine but I have no clue where to buy the components and what components I need to do this. I have found two turbo kits for the KA24DE from F-Max and XS-Engineering which seem like good ideas. I'm assuming those have been tested and proven to work well with the car. Does anyone know about those two kits? Also Greddy is supposed to be comming out with a turbo kit for the '96-'98 240SX does anyone have information on the kit? If I weren't going to go with a kit does anyone know where to get the parts and what parts I need to turbo charge my KA24DE? Basically any information anyone has on the subject of turbocharging a '96-'98 KA24DE post information.

if your on a budget, get a turbo kit from realnissan.com if you got alot of money get the greddy kit that will be coming out soon. greddy makes the most complete turbo kit. they even come with heatshields, injectors, and a piggy back computer!! and zip ties too!

Yes I realize the 95-98 are the same not sure why I didn't include the 95.

To everyone else... What about individual parts not just kits.

ahh good one. i actually don't know. but i'm pretty sure that will be worth the wait. the installation process will be alot more smoother, and alot less of a hassle. it took me about 1 month to get my turbo to run properly. i ran into alot of little problems like my brakes boiling cause its next to the turbo so i couldn't stop ( a heatshield will fix this ) and my a/c line almost got destroyed from the downpipe ( header wrap will fix this ) i'm running into a fuel problem right now and i just ordered a walbro fuel pump ( i'm sure the greddy kit will include this in along with injectors ) my kit also didn't come with all the nuts and bolts its hard to find the exact size and lenght for everything ( the greddy kit should come with it ) the list just goes on. but for you other guys whos reading this, i just gave you guys a big freebee. don't miss out on all these steps or else you will run into alot of problems.

Thanks TatII that was more along the lines of what I was looking for parts wise. Just what I needed to get it up and running. I'll probably just wait until the Greddy turbo kit comes out but we'll see.

hehe thanks for the welcome back guys. and to help cornykorn21 a little, here are some places to get the parts on the list that Tat made.

1: turbo manifold Turbo Boss (http://www.turboboss.com/cat.pl?cat=Turbo&make=Nissan&model=240SX&item=00002), Tom Rice's Manifold (http://www.executivecleancar.com/KAManifold/Info_and_pix.htm), Unstable Hybrids (http://www.unstable-hybrids.com)
2: turbo charger Cheap Turbo (great prices) (www.cheapturbo.com). shit you can find turbo's almost anywhere these days.
3: oil receiving and returning lines with all T ing hardware Any Turbo has oil line kits (http://www.anyturbo.com)
4: external wastegate (optional if you have a internal wastegate, but a must if you have no wastegate ) HKS (http://www.hksusa.com/), Cheap Turbo - Tial Wastegates (www.cheapturbo.com), Greddy (http://www.greddy.com/products/wastegates_frame.htm) Once again, you can find wastegates almost anywhere.
5: piping - Most piping will have to be made custom fit to your car by a shop but I believe that FMAX does have a piping kit available for the KA. It will all bolt up as long as you use the same turbo and intercooler that they are using. Their kit uses a T3/T04E IIRC.
6: turbo pipe coupling Turbo Hoses (http://www.turbohoses.com/)
7: fuel pump Walbro. walbro pumps can be found almost anywhere but srswap was the first place that popped into my head (www.srswap.com), Aeromotive (http://www.aeromotiveinc.com/)
8: fuel management unit - you can use piggy back untis like the Greddy E-Manage (http://www.greddy.com/products/electronics_frame.htm), smaller fuel controller's like the Greddy S-AFC (can be found almost anywhere), or if you are loaded with cash then you can get a complete stand alone EMS like the new Electromotive Tec3 (http://www.getfuelinjected.com/) orHaltech (http://www.haltech.com.au/)
9: larger injectors ( optional ) - CIP Motorsports (www.cipmotorsports.com) has a wide range of injectors available. most larger sized injectors will be top feed so you will need to either get a custom top feed fuel rail made or you can buy a pre-made one from Unstable-Hybrids (www.unstable-hybrids.com)
10: intercooler (optional) PWR Intercoolers (www.cheapturbo.com), XS Engineering (www.xs-engineering.com), Spearco Intercoolers (http://www.turboneticsinc.com/intercoolers.html)
11: blow off valve - many to choose from like Greddy (www.greddy.com), HKS (www.hksusa.com), Blitz (www.blitz-na.com) and many many more
12: lots of vacuum lines and T's - Turbo Hoses (http://www.turbohoses.com)
13: heat shields - buy some metal at lowes and cut out your own
14: header wrap - Hiper Parts (http://www.hiperparts.com/exhaust_wrap.html)
15: guages ( air fuel ratio, and boost/vac guage ) - Auto Meter (http://www.autometer.com/)
16: gaskets ( manifold to block, downpipe, turbo to downpipe and turbo to manifold ) -
Mr Gasket (http://www.mrgasket.com/) or any performance shop in your area should have these.
17: and the almighty 3 inch downpipe - Most likely will need to be custom made unless if you get parts from a kit that may include the downpipe.
18: almost forgot, the pipe that diverts the gases from the wastegate to the downpipe. - Custom made once again because it will depend on where you mount your wastegate and where you want it to enter your downpipe. Or you can just say "Screw running the exhaust gases from the wastegate through the cat" and you can run an open atmo wastegate.
