Here's a few progress pics of the latest project I've been working away on this week.
Its the Tamiya EVO6.
Kit is being built almost straight from the box at this stage as i want it to look almost standard when next to my others i plan on building.
Chassis has great detail and been very easy to put together so far.
Interior is all finished also. Went for a different shade of greys for the inside.
Next up will be the painting of the body.
Hope you enjoy.

Well it's about time! ;) I was getting worried! :D

The chassis is amazing, is it TS-50?

It looks so nice that I have decided to stop cheating myself and start detailing out the underside of my kits. In the past I have left them pretty plain, using just a couple of colors.

One question...How do you mask, or do you mask around the small areas?

Just to answer a few questions.....

modelcarmaster16....the coulour will be the same as the chassis, TS-50
rhmatt....No masking, just a very small brush and a steady hand !!. Most parts i use my marker pen to get a nice line then paint up to the line. The door panels are done like this.
BaNe...No engine with the kit....just the bottom view
Deejay360...this is a pic with BLITZ rims i was going to use but i'm going to probably keep the standard look for a clean simple build.

Got the wheels on and body already for priming today. There is very little mold lines on the kit so it was sanded in 5 minutes.
Here's a pic of it sitting on the chassis...looks a little high but thats what they look like so it will be staying the same to keep the "stock" look to it.
Rims are very nice but really need to be abit bigger for my liking:p

Got the body painted today while it was sunny.
5 coats ot Tamiya TS50 over white primer.
Trying to get through my pile of kits to build so it was primed only 4 days ago then painted in top coat today  :eek7:
Will allow the paint to harden for a few days before the detail work gets added.

 I think you could paint a turd and make it shine.

Not that I'm saying an Evo looks like a turd, or that I'd want to see a painted turd....er...well you get the idea!

And you should stop leaving the Tamiya enamels in the background of your pics...driving me crazy. Can't get them in the U.S. :(

erm.. i'm too cheap for an airbrush   but that color.. oh it looks so nice. it's a little lighter than a color i've been lookin for. does it come in rattle cans? ...if so, i may do a coat of black before i paint that blue and i'd get my desire color. that's really quite beautiful. love the work :icon16:

do you use a brush for the drive train, exahust and the dash then...or did you spray them too?

That being the case then, how much money you spend on doing one kit roughly? Including purchase price of kit. Just curious, I seem to spend $30(kit)+$10(Spray for body)+$4(roughly in tin paint costs, I try to spend as little as possible). Only thing I spray is the body, otherwise the kit just doesn't last long enough.

Bring her in the Mitsubitshi meeting when finish ! Looks great like all the cars you're putting in here... making me jalous by the quality of your production.

Keep them comming, it's like a goal for me, maybe sometime I'll do a decent one that will make you jalous.

Great car and great build.
Incredible skills, makes people wonder how good one can get with just spray can and brush

May I ask if this kit is one of the Tamiya Lites (wheels move but don't steer) or just a normal one which has turning front wheels

Thanks in advance

PMan, just a couple questions:

1. What colour is the sky outside?
2. What colour is your grass?
3. How long is your grass?
4. Are you taking shelter from a nuclear fallout?

.... sometimes it seems like you must never go out......
