Help please - How do I get front rotors off?

Every other car I've ever done brakes on the rotor just slips off after the caliper is out of the way. The rotors on my 1990 HB don't seem to want to come off.

I tried removing those two little screws.... still no luck.

Don't tell me you have to remove the wheel bearing nut just to remove the rotor.... please help.

Thanks in advance.

If the 2 little screws are out try pulling....hard!! If that doesnt work, pull harder. And if you still cant get it, get someone with muscle :D .

Ok, so it IS the two little screws. It must just be seized up then. I was afraid to pull harder without knowing for sure it would give. I can move the car on the stands, so I should have enough muscle. LOL

Thanks for the response.

No prob, make sure u dont pull the car off the jack stands, cuz that's bad for your car and probly your health as well. If you need to, just hit the rotor with a hammer to break it loose.

yeah they just slip off... if you are replacing the rotor then just nail the sucker with a hammer... if you aren't nail that sucker with a 2x4 between the hammer and rotor (be careful to not damage the studs though)

Remove those screws. Get Longer screws that screw into the holes, and keep screwing them in. The rotor will pop right off after you tighten them enough. When I did mine it made the job go alot faster.

If the screws are seized you can also try to drill them out. Just drill a small hole in the center and keep enlarging the hole and the remains of the screw should come out. You can then replace the screws if you want (dealer item).

If you got the screws off listen to jeef.

Good Luck :)
