You need to find a donor car to get the engine trans and wiring harness/computer and grab the rear end out while your at it. Its a fairly common swap if you check around on the internet.

Yes, this is a very common thing to do. I'm actually contemplating it myself on my notch. The best way to do the swap is to get a donor car like 94svt5.0 suggested. There will be a lot of things that should/need to be changed. It will take time, but can be done if your mechanically inclined and are willing to learn a little bit.
Here's a list if things that need to be changed right away, just to be able to make the car drive.
-motor
-motor mounts
-fuel lines
-wiring harnesses
-computer
Now here's a list of things that should be changed for the sake of safety and longevity.
-trans
-rearend
-all suspension components
-whole brake system
-driveshaft
-wheels
Hope this helps some.

i would go with a pre 94 mustang as a doner car. The 89-93 cars would be the best. 94-95 used different headers, distributor, intake manifold, throttle cable, ecu, wiring harness, and mainly accesories, and accesorie brackets.
