Exclamation 94 Cutlass Ciera Electric Cooling Fan Issues

I have a 94 olds cutlass ciera 3.1L V6. Neither of the electric cooling fans are working. The coolant temp gauge works, i replaced the relay, the fuse isn't broken, I tested the fans by directly connecting them to the battery and they work so its not the fans. I need some advise on what i should test or replace next. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AF, they only come on at temps above 220 or when the ac operates.

Re: 94 Cutlass Ciera Electric Cooling Fan Issues

I know they supposed to turn on at 220 or when the ac is on. But they dont bc it will go past 220 just ideling. And when i turn the ac on they still dont come on. Im trying to figure out where the issue is. The fuse is good, the fans work bc i tested them, and i replaced the relay. The wiring isnt even corroded or anything. So thats what im trying to figure out.

The fans are triggered by the pcm thru the coolant temp sensor input to the pcm, only a scan will let you see what the actual temps are, and if at 222 do they come on, check the grounds also. The ac will only trigger the fans based on the clutch engaging or too high pressure in the system.
