Talking Revell 1971 Hemi 'Cuda

HI, I'm 16 years old and I have been working on this car for two weeks now. I already have had to strip the paint. It is not stock, I added racing seats, lowered the suspension, and it will have a two-tone paint job.

- The color is Hemi Orange

- I shaved the front license plate off and the fog lights.

- I still need to add one spark plug to the engine.

- I add a little weathering, some dirt and sand. I still need to add some stuff and paint the brake and fuel lines.

Hope you enjoyed this WIP, more to come

Re: Revell 1971 Hemi 'Cuda

I built this kit once...

But I need to go and do it again with a fresh kit. Looks pretty good so far, but a couple critiques:

Wheels are in the tires backwards. Tire lettering should be outward.

The alternator is never chrome (despite Revell plating them all the time). It should be painted aluminum.

Nice job painting the molded-on exhaust and plumbing.

Looking forward to seeing more.

I've got one of these on the go too and I'm really liking the shape of the car. Those big flat surfaces look really good in big and bright colours.
It's more or less box stock but I will definitely pick up another one to play around with when I finish this one. As it is I've already made a couple of mistakes on it.

Re: Revell 1971 Hemi 'Cuda

ok so I painted the two tone black, almost done with the body. I used an airbrush for the first time for the black. I had one problem, some paint dripped out of the airbrush and onto the roof . i also finished the front bumper.

I also lowered it.

I like the paint scheme...I think you could probably sand and polish out the roof mistake, just work your way up through the sandpaper grits and then finish with compound. I'm surprised the kit had no tire lettering as my Revell '71 'Cuda has very prominent, large lettering. Maybe they changed things when they reissued the kit.
