02 stereo install/remove

I am putting an aftermarket stereo into a 2002 gp. How do I remove the dash bezel to do this?? Does it just snap on there? Also, I removed it from a 1996 gp, is the wiring harness the same?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 02 stereo install/remove

Visit our Tips & Maintenance forum which has the procedure to remove the radio in '97-'03 models. See link below. I doubt the harnesses are the same but you can do a comparison once the radio is removed.

Re: 02 stereo install/remove

As long as your GP doesn't have the Bose system, the wiring harnesses will be the same. GM used the same radio harness from the late 80's through 04'ish. If it's a din-1.5 size radio, it will wire up the same. I believe the harness changed when GM switched to the double-din size radios
