Here's the thing. I own a 86 2.3L single barrel carb. Recently the timing skipped and I went about fixing it. (and learning lots of new things about it.)
So i got the timing fixed. Made sure to remove the disty cap to make sure it was pointing at the no. 1 cylinder. Right now i believe I have it timed right a 0 degrees. Piston 1 is at TDC of compression stroke. Cam is set so both valves are shut (by means of using the alignment mark) So my question is: What should the timing be set at? And how do you go about setting the timing/fine tuning? Thanks for all the help in advance. |

Re: Fine Tuning.
The catalyst under your hood or in the driver's side door jamb should tell you what the timing is supposed to be set to. You will need a timing light to set the timing.
