1997 Plymouth Voyager, but what trim level?

Okay, I go to a local Kragen Auto Parts. I give him the make, model, the year, and then he asks me if it's either Voyager or Voyager SE. I didn't really know what to tell him after that. I do have the Haynes Repair Manual for the Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager & Chrysler Town & Country 1996-2002. And after going through the VIN, it tells me this about my vehicle:
  • Country of Origin: Canada
  • Make: Plymouth
  • Vehicle Type: Multipurpose Pass. Vehicle
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
  • Car Line: Plymouth, Voyager/Grand Voyager
  • FWD Voyager Series:
  • Body Style: Short Wheel Base (Body Style)
  • Engine: 2.4L 4cyl. MPI 16-Valve DOHC
  • Check Digit: 7
  • Model Year: 1997
  • Assembly Plant: Windsor
  • Sequence Number: 6 digit number ... etc.
But comparing the other Car Lines digits, it never indicated how to tell whether it is a Basic, SE, LE or etc. Is there a way to learn this?

I also got a bit of information about other trim levels at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Voyager -- but that still doesn't help me figure how I can tell whether mine is just a Voyager or a Voyager SE (or other).

Here is a picture of my van (vanity.. I know, lol)

If it is a 4 cylinder then its a base model . The SE was the higher end V6 models with the 3.3 in i believe , though you could get the base model which I use to have with the Mitsu 3.0 V6 and the 3 speed auto in it . It was a good car apart from the engine seals . Usually if you give them the engine size they can tell what model , at least thats how it works on the auto parts websites when you look something up . Can tell you live in a warm climate if the body is that good after 11 years .

Well, when you go here: http://www.partsamerica.com/VehicleS...2fDefault.aspx

Here is the typical sequence:
  1. It asks first for the Vehicle Year. (1997)
  2. Vehicle's Make (Plymouth)
  3. Vehicle's Model (Voyager)
  4. Then you have to select the vehicle's trim level and engine. And I discover that both the Voyager and Voyager SE has the 4 cylinder engine. (See screenshot below--red arrows point the engines.)

Yes, the body looks good. Though there are a few dents, but when I schedule it to get it painted, I am sure they will get ride of those dents and bents. Thanks for noticing.

How can I be 100% sure of this? Is there anywhere I can find this? Or what did the SE have that the other didn't have?

Well, for one, where yours says "Voyager" on the tailgate, mine says "Voyager SE." The difference is in the upholstery, and what items were standard equipment vs. optional. SE denotes just a trim level.

Ah, well that definitely explains it. Thank you.

If you can, can you provide a picture of your tailgate so I can see the emblem?

not mine but same style. just eliminate the "grand" before the "V" in voyager. Grand denotes the long wheelbase model
