Re: noise in rearend roaring
Does the roaring noise seem to get louder with aceleration? My wife had a 99 Vitara that had a similar noise coming from the rear. The noise would get louder with acceleration. It turned out that I needed to replace the inner wheel bearing. The only other advice that I can give you is to drain the differential in the back and check for metal shavings. You may need to replace differential fluid.
