If I were a D&D character...(mods this is on-topic)

I would have a MacGyvering-skill level of 1000

That being said let me tell you a story...

I was on my way to the UPS Store to send my xbox in for repairs. The UPS store is right next to a walmart. Unfortunately just as a passed my last chance to turn off the road I notice traffic is really backed up. So I switch the radio station until I hear the traffic report. It isn't long until I hear the female voice on the radio say there is major backups on Osceola Parkway in both directions due to an accident. Well that just bites because I happen to be on Osceola Parkway.

So we puts along for about 30 minutes moving only about 50 feet. I've been noticing the temp guage rapidly rising. I turned on the heater dispite the fact its 102 degrees outside.

Thats when the oder hits me in the face like a ton of bricks. It smells like over cooked pretzels. Steam starts bellowing up the dashboard. I look over to the pasenger side under the dash area. Luckily I happen to have that plasticy panel removed. I see greenish liquid flowing to the floor in a small but steady stream right out of the heater.

I cut someone off while yelling out my window about people who can't drive and crash into each other, causing my car to overheat.

So I make it into a gas station and turn the car off. I buy a mountain dew and some paper towels at the gas station and commence to mop up the coolent pool on the floor. After I get it as clean as I can I decide to take a look to see if traffic has cleared at all so I can have someone come pick me up. Nope. Roads are congested as bad as ever. I look over to see what the crash looks like. The effing car isn't even in the road. There is one car crashed in the walmart driveway and they shut down the busiest road in the area.

This is where my McGyvering comes in. With the incompetent blocking all incoming traffic in every direction for who knows how long, I realise it is up to me to get myself out of this mess.

To cut a long story short, I took off both Heater H'es (don't want to call them hose after what happened to Imus) and bypassed the heater with one of them.

And thats how it happened.

Yeah, I had to sharpen the paper clip on the concrete to cut the heater hose, I used a the gum to plug the leak in my heater, and I used the rubber band to hold the hose on.

Ok not really... but I did use my pocket knife as a screw driver to undo the hose clamps.

Re: If I were a D&D character...(mods this is on-topic)

I'm pretty sure I've topped that macgyver story before...

Hmmm... Oh yeah, how about the time my battery died and my buddy and I was stranded in the middle of nowhere with no cellphone service. I pulled out a piece of carpet from my hatch floor and set it in front of the car and rubbed my feet on it and held both battery terminals while my buddy started the car... Now that is a true macgyver story...

Ok, so I made up the part about... everything. lol

It was still a sweet idea though. lol
