Tranny Problem?
When my son puts the vehicle in drive he experiences a "jolt" just after placing it in drive. He states that the trans shifts well in all gears. I haven't personally experienced this but he will stop over this weekend so I can take a look at it. I suspect a possible bad engine mount. It is a 97 with 61K.

Re: Tranny Problem?
Engine mount would be a good place to check. Also, when was the last time the transmission fluid and filter was changed?

Re: Tranny Problem?
Don't know. I checked the fluid and it was at level and appeared to be fresh. The people who had it before had all the maintenance done at the dealership.
P.S. He just got it yesterday.

Re: Tranny Problem?
I know it takes awhile before the fluids show signs of "wearing out", even though the fluid may be in there too long. I think it took my car about 35K-miles before my xmsn fluid started to change color or smell wierd. Now, occasionally my car will jolt, but xmsn wear is to blame for this one as I wasn't changing the fluid properly.
