Replacing Foglight bulbs

Does anyone know how to take the bulb socket out the back of the assembly (to get the bulb out)? I've tried everything. I've also searched the forums but only find this same question over and over again. Is there anyone that can finally answer it? Thanks.

I did the bulbs on my 2000 last night. It's pretty easy which makes me wonder if yours is a later year that isn't as easy. What year is yours?
