Angry 94' Camry won't start-need help!

I have dressed up my camry a bit with ground effects and new rims etc. Along with that process I installed interior neons in my car and just recently an underglow kit. The interior neons were in my car prior to me installing the underglow kit recently, and I was tapping my cigarette lighter/stereo fuse for power. After I installed my underglow kit I tapped the same fuse as well. Everything worked with the new underglow kit, nothing seemed to be a problem. Then as I was driving down the road, I went to turn my interior neons on and the stereo went out. So I got home to find my stereo fuse blown, so I replaced it, and moved the power for the interior neons to my seat heater fuse, thinking that maybe too much power was drawing from one fuse. So i turned the car on accessory, and my stereo came back on. So then I tested the lighting again, so I turned on the interior neon switch and once again the stereo went out. I checked the fuses, and they were still good. Now my car will not turn over. I do not have any indicator lights in my dash except for the airbag light. The only reason I can figure that comes on is because maybe it has power coming from something that hasn't been blown or shorted. The car power locks, and interior lights (the stock lights not the neons) still come on when I turn the key, but nothing else. My headlights work, but I cannot even get a click from the engine. Nothing is turning over, etc. Does anyone have an idea of what I should do? I checked the main fuses under the hood as well but nothing was bad. Someone help please!

Sounds like you are definately drawing too much power from the interior fuse block to run all of your accessories. You should set up an auxiliary fuse block off the battery so you do not affect the OEM equipment. Based on what you have posted, I believe you have fried a main fuse (40 amp or larger) that feeds the ignition circuits and some of the internal key powered systems (including airbag). I would check again for larger fuses or even a melted wire or wire connector near the main fuseblock under the hood. I don't believe it's inside the car...too many systems are out.

Re: 94' Camry won't start-need help!

Dugan,

It is a 1994 camry, with the V-6 1MFZE engine. I did check all the fuses in the engine compartment, including the 40 amp main, and all were good. I even replaced the 40 amp main and 100 amp for the altenator just to see if it would help, but still nothing. I did get a meter on the fuse panels however and this is what I can tell you. The fuse box inside the engine compartment has power everywhere, and there does not appear to be any burnt wires, etc underneath the box. However, my fuse box on the inside of the car does not have power going to half of it, so the problem may be on that end. What do you think? I'm also looking for a wiring diagram for this car.

I'm also looking for a wiring diagram for this car.

There is a generation 3 Toyota factory service manual stickied at the top of the forum. Download it. It should have what you are looking for. I believe it actually is a generation 3 manual.
