2001 Cherokee "cricket"
I need help!!!!! (besides the mental type
Within the last couple of days, when I start driving, I have a chirping that goes with wheel speed. It has been collllllddddd here (PA). When it warms up a bit, the chirping stops. My big concern would be wheel bearing. I am thinking more likely brakes just getting to the squealie indicator. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch. With the "ecco" alloy wheels, the center cover that has 'Jeep' on it will sqeak or chirp. You can hear it when driving slowly.
The disc brake pads on an XJ does not have a squeak indicator. The pads could chirp but will stop when you press on the brake pedal a little bit. Wheel bearings don't chirp usually, they knd of growl. Which end, front or back? |

Re: 2001 Cherokee "cricket"
It sounds to me to be the front left. Did the drive with the door open thing
it has just been too cold to crawl around under it, even in the garage. It seems to be mostly annoying, but don't want it to lead to bad later |
