Unhappy 4k rpm rev limit on hot days?

Okay, so my promblem is this, when ever its really cold outside (45-50 degrees and below) my car runs fine but then when its hotter out side when ever i hit around 3.5k to 4k rpms its like i hit a brick wall and wont let me exceed those rpms like a rev limmiter kind of. Was wonder what may have happened and how to fix it.

Turbo? Awd? What model car and what tranny. Year and mods will help too.

Very unlikely. I don't even think those ECUs can be flashed.

Passivality, how does the car idle when this happens? And when you say it "hits a brick wall," what exactly happens? RPMs drop and car runs like shit, or it the RPMs stay up and the car just won't go any faster or what? When was the last time you did a tune-up on the car too? Compression test? That will tell you what kind of shape the motor is in, not saying you're gonna need a re-build (actually I'm pretty sure you aren't), but sometimes things like this give a little insight on the whole problem.
