1999 Monte Carlo Z34 Shutdown

I have a 99 Monte Carlo Z34 with a 3.8 this problems just started every now and then the motor just stops stalles whatever and every now and then when you step on the gas the tranny feels like its slipping then it grabs and goes like nothing happened its a great car I love my Monte Catlo but thies problems are giving me headaches if any can help it would be great

Take a look a your throttle body, it's probably dirty and I'd check the crank position sensor too.

ok well I tryed to have the crank sensor changed but the nut holding on the ballencer wont release and their afraid it will strip or break the crank so that problem is a new one the throtle body has been cleaned it didnt help but the origonal problem still exist so I am thinking about changing my fuel pump at $550.00 + install and my ECM computer at $260.00 plus $88.00 for programing Other than thies I dont know what to do except sell it or trade it in Jim

Ok guys and gals here is the scoop on the Monte Shutdown I took it to Richard Chevrolet in Cheshier, CT and with in 1 hour they had it digonased and in repair mode all the sugestions were good but not even close it was the VAT System shorted out and was causing the stalling tks for all the help a happy Monte Z34 Man
