Turbo/supercharging my 93 civic si

I have a very important question. I have a 1993 honda civic si with tanabe super racing medalion exhaust and intake, soon to get headers. Anyways, i want to turbo more than supercharge. But i hear all the time that alot of annoying things go wrong when you have a turbo and its alot harder on your car. And i heard with a supercharger its easier on your car, and not as many things go wrong with them. I am 16 and i dont want to have my car broken and i dont want to have to deal with annoying problems. Also can you have headers with your supercharger or turbo. If anyone has a turbocharged or supercharged 92-95 honda civic please tell me about yours.

Thanks

relient

Re: Turbo/supercharging my 93 civic si

OK first i have a 1994 Honda civic with a Greddy turbo kit. A supercharger is much easier on the engine yes but it doesnt do shit for your horspower compared to a turbo. Second it all depends on what you are trying to do. If you want a turbo to race hardcore with like 300 horsepower or something you got the wrong car man there is no way the little D16 sohc engine cannot handle that much. So all you need to do is save up about $1,500 and go to horsepowerfreaks.com and buy the Greddy turbo kit for our car. Then install it and it is already set to the right boost levels so you dont have to worry about anything blow out. You dont even need a blow-off valve and it comes with a internal wastegate. So dont worry about anything buy that kit and tell me how it goes. Oh and dont buy headers cause you dont need them the kit come with what you need.

I agree with the Greddy turbo idea. With that and a few grand more in mods you can get an easy 230+ horsepower. A turbo takes place of a header AND intake, so find someone to buy the one you have if you go turbo. A supercharger is more reliable, but like said above it doesn't do shit for power gains, and they cost like 3 friggin grand.
