Factory code to unlock doors?

Hi, I just purchased a 2004. I am the 3rd owner. When I bought my 96 new it had a card with the factory 5 digit code on it, I still have that card.
Unfortunatly I only have the 2nd code on the 04. In order to program my own 5 digit code you need the factory code. Is there anyway to get the original code without going to the dealership? Sorry if I made this sound confusing.

Yep, to find the factory code, you just need to locate the remote keyless module and be able to see the 5-digit factory code on the sticked affixed to the side of the module.

Last I knew, the box is located under the dash, in the area between and above the brake and accelerator pedals. The sticker may be affixed to the side of the module in the small space between two modules. You will need a bright light and probably need to close one eye and squint with the other to be able to read the code.

I know others have asked this question before. You should try searching the forum, you may find details specific to the 2004 model year.

Thanks Rod. I did do a search but found nothing on a 04. I will try the bright light & maybe my sons good eyes. At least you gave me a good hint for the location for the module. Thanks again, Mike.

You're welcome. Since you didn't find any details on a 2004, please post back when you find the location of the module either way (if it's in the same location, or if you find it elsewhere).

I found the module with the number printed on the side. It is a black box just to the left of the brake petal. It is larger than I thought, I kept clicking the remote to help me locate it.
