1996 Maxima slow/no start

Anyone have any advice. I was told my check engine light is giving O2 sensors and knock sensor failures. Does anyone know if this could cause a starting problem. I had the spark plugs changed, and found that two plugs were a little black from running rich. I changed the fuel filter and ran two bottles of injector cleaner. Until today, the car would eventually start if you keep trying. Only some of the plugs seem to be firing during startup. Once it was started it normally ran fine without missing. There were a few occasions when it was really difficult to start where it continued to miss while I was driving home from work. It may be worse when it has been raining. It definetely seemed easier to start when it was real hot and dry. I was thinking about trying to change some coil packs or something, but not sure how or if it would do any good. These are supposedly fairly expensive. Please provide any info you can.

I'm having the same problem now om my 96 Max. It cranks no problem, but doesn't want to turn over. Did you ever find a definite resolution? I saw a post that suggested a faulty crank sensor, but I'm also considering a fuel pump or filter problem. Any feedback will help. Thanks.

When I was getting those codes, the car started and ran just fine. It wasn't as fast as it should be because the knock sensor code retards the timing. I'm not too sure what the deal with your car is, but it sounds like it might be the crank sensor. I'm sure that someone else will be able to give you better advice.
Kevin.
