Idle problem won't go off.

Ok. The last time i was here complaining about my car, i was given some tips but the problem wont still go away.
Ok. I have a 97 eclipse gs none turbo. 2.0 dohs 4cylinder stick shift.
Sometimes when i step on my cluth, the idle will go all the way up and my engine noise will be sounding very large. And also when i start my car(expecially when it is cold) it will start and die immediately, unless i step on the gas and keep my foot there for a while. I went to Autozone and did a check engine light test.
The code: "1294 idle speed not reaching" came on. Some people told me it is definitely my vacuum lines. I changed the vacuum lines, and the problem still continued after a couple of days.
Some people say it is my oxygen sensor. Others say it is my full fillter.
Others say it is my fuel pressure regulator.(I also think this might be the problem.)
Also, the cars jerks every now and then.

Any suggestions?

Re: Idle problem won't go off.

Could be the throttle plate/body needs to be cleaned. If it's not closing quickly when you press the clutch it's like keeping you foot on the pedal. When you start it the idle passages cold be clogged and not flowing properly get some carb cleaner and a roll of paper towels and clean it up and see it that helps.

I did that too. To make matters worse, we had about a foot of snow here today in Minnesota. As i was curving a corner, my stearing just became really hard. I checked the stearing fluit and everything looks well. Does it go witha beault? and my idle wet really up when i stepped on my clutch today. I have to release my foot off the cluth about 90 percet, before it comes down to its idle speek, which is 50+ or - 800.

This thing is really frustrating me. It is the best car i ever had.
