Big Problem Please Help
Just like the subject line says i have a big problem with my car, on the way back from work the car just started to loose power and just turned off. I tried starting it up and it started but the engine started to shake like crazy, and when i opened the hood there was a skweeekinbg sound comming from around the timing belt. My guess my timimg belt has come of or completely snapped,,,,,If anyone has any suggestions please respond. Thanks

I would definetly not turn the car back on until you know what the issue is. take your valve cover off and take a peak inside. you will know instantly if the belt is to blame. good luck.

sounds to me like you lost one of your cylinders due to something. it could be something as simple as your spark plug has failed, or something all the way to your injectors or something more serious crapped out. check for spark in all your cylinders, make sure your fuel pressure in within spec, then try compression test. see if anything there turns up something.

if ur timing belt snapped, then your engine would have been gone, so i doubt it was that to blame.
id also say check your plugs, injectors.

No offense Crxlvr, but I have seen the responds that I happen to see you posted up, and they all seems to be a bit exaggerate.

none taken, but if a timing belt snaps while engine is revving, the sudden halt would cause the valves to hit into the piston after the cam stops spinning, while the velocity of the belt is on its way to damaging other parts of your car.
a timing belt snapping is the worst thing that can happen to an engine, and when it does 99% of the time, the engine is gone.

Thanks for the replys guys, but luckily it aint the timing belt, i did a couple tests and and the problem is the oil pump, it completely died, that would explain why the oil light was on for a while. ANyways when the pump stoped working the upper part of the engine was getting lubricated so their might be a bit more damage caused. Ill find out tomorrow when i change the pump. But thank god it wasnt the timing belt.
