opel astra olympic 1.4

my car is over heating very quickly and the water is spraying out of the lid were its filled how do i fix dis problem and whats causing it

thermostat is stuck in the closed position, time for a new thermostat also get cylinder head checked for trueness, might even new a new head gasket
