1998 Alternator Light Isuue

I have a 1998 Cavalier 2.2L and I recently changed the alternator out because the light was coming on sometimes. Even with the new alternator, the light still comes on sometimes. The new alternator has been tested and checked out fine. A voltmeter reading reads 15 volts whether the light is on or not. The battery was tested and was found o.k. as well. What else is there to check that may be causing the light to come on?

Re: 1998 Alternator Light Isuue

I had the same problem with my 95 cavalier i replaced the alternator, the light went off but came on again like a week later it turns out that one of the wires that goes to the alternator was bad so i had to get that replaced and get a new alternator, i sugest you take your car to a place were they can check for an electrical malfunction, but first check out the wiring.
