B18b1 surging

I have a B18 in a 93 civic and i noticed under acceleration ,you can feel a slight power surge, nothing too terrible but enough to irritate me. any help is appreciated. also is the factory fuel pump sufficient for this motor? and one more thing it has the factory ECU still in the car, what is the best ECU to run? thanks a whole lot.
