95 Lumina, connecting AUX audio source, is it possible?

Hey y'all, I have a 95 Lumina and would like to tie my Garmin 2610 GPS audio into the car's audio system. The radios in the 95 models don't have an AUX button or a port for a CD changer so I'm out of luck as far as working something out that way.

I was wondering if I could just solder a 3.5mm female audio cable directly to the front and rear speaker wires on my radio's harness. I'm concerned that the speakers might not match the output of my GPS, though. Has anyone ever done this before? If not, are there any other bright ideas about how to hook the GPS up to my audio system?
