Re: R vs MR...

I say MR, I like the looks better and am an acceleration junkie. Plus I love fast 4 doors.

I like the RX7 better. More of a sports car rather than a small sedan that just happens to be fast. I really hate the sound of a rotary though.

RX7 is better all around except for reliability and adverse conditions like dirt, rain, snow.

I dont see how you can compare the two...?

RWD vs. AWD
2770lbs. vs. 3285lbs.
2dr coupe vs. 4dr sedan
233tq vs. 286tq.

Not much of a fair comparison...

Why is it unfair? The evo has 50 more lbs of torque and awd...

They have almost the same 0-60's times but the evo .1 quicker so how is it unfair?

Re: R vs MR...

2 dr coupe with two seats vs 4 dr saloon with four seats maybe?
not to mention that the two are,in terms of character and intent, very different.
one is a sports coupe with the intention of verging on being a semi-useful GT.
the other is one in a line of cars that have been evolving parallel to their rally car program.
granted their perfermance is comparable but they are different types of cars.

Rally car vs. sports coupe, one car will grip the road while the other will just spin tires. The handling & aerodynamics are set up different for each car. I just think its a pointless comparison..

By the way, I just noticed the pic you posted of the MR is an FQ400, which has 405 bhp and 355 lb ft of tq.

The setup might be slightly different but they are both meant for track use. The Evo I doubt would spin the tires on tarmac. As far as pointless goes then why do touge and best motoring always have them facing off every chance they get.
