Question poor mileage

My car seems to be getting worse mileage latly, any ideas on why that could be, my clutch is going, and i think maybe my starter will need to be replaced soon, but i dont think that would affect it, the clutch isnt grinding or making it hard to drive yet, just annoying so what could be causing this or what could i do to get it better mileage again

Re: poor mileage

with your car in 4th at say 35mph, floor the gas clutch fully engaged). if the motor gets louder and the car starts to slowly accellerate then your clutch is likely slipping and this will cause bad mielage. it could be air filter is dirty, could be the weather!

inside the black plastic box on the right of the engine compartment as you stnad in fornt of the car. between the battery and the strut tower. open it up and filter is insde. it should be somehting apporximating white but is probably filthy. replace it. will cost less then $5

Re: poor mileage

Replacing your filter is a good start, but if you still notice bad mileage, it may be bad plugs and wires, or a bad sensor.
