S-15 Dash Problems

Hi. My 93' Jimmy's Dash guages have some problems.

Its not one of those digital dashs.

There are two problems, one serious, one minor.

When the car is off, the gas guage is positioned at about half. When i turn the car on, it goes up past full, and beyond where you cant even see the orange needle. Is the gas guage broken in the dash, or in the gas tank? How can this be fixed?

The minor problem is the P R N D 2 1, the orange needle that highlights what gear your in, doesnt work. I am able to count, but if I could fix it, i wouldnt mind.

Re: S-15 Dash Problems

Sending unit is bad.

The mechanism in the dash for the gear selection probably is broken and will have to be replaced.

Re: S-15 Dash Problems

Yes.

Contact your local parts supplier for the parts price.

Re: S-15 Dash Problems

The PRND321 is just a cable(at least on mine)that has a small clip that attaches to the steering column...it slides on. There is a small cutout where it attaches to. You may have to play with it a little to get the needle to line up perfect.
