93' S10 2.8 stalls and backfires after warm up
my 93 s10 is stalling & misfiring after reaching operating temp. I start the engine, Drive for about 10 minutes (the truck is running like a champ) then all of the sudden @#%$@. It starts to shutter and misfire(alot like i am running out of gas) this condition will remain until the engine is shut off & then cools.
When i restart the engine it runs fine again for 10 min. and starts all over again. PLEASE Help me. I have replaced: Fuel pump, Fuel Filter, Spark plugs & wire, Dist.cap and rotor, MAP sensor, 02 sensor, PCV Valve, EGR valve and i Flushed the Radiatior, block, and heater coils. Still the problem remains. My diagnostic terminal reads a code 13 & 34 (MAP & O2) This has been reset after the repairs and i get no more codes. Any suggestion will be much appreciated. |

it sounds like you ignition coil is bad ,bad coils fire fine when cold then arc out when they heat up its a cheap fix and should be replaced after 75,000 miles

also check to make sure you are not getting too much fuel (IE. bad pressure regulator) causing it to flood and die

Re: Re: 93' S10 2.8 stalls and backfires after warm up
Thank you. I replaced the ignition coil and tightened the bolts that carry the injectors and it worked to stop the backfires. I've had a couple stalls since, but only at idle after driving. I noticed my timing was 14deg (instead of the factory 10deg.) tomorrow i will attempt to adjust it.
