My Supra -vs- Holden Monaro CV8

I was on the Great Western Highway this afternoon (Sydney, Australia) at a red light, minding my own business, just driving to my girlfriends house, when these 2 guys in a yellow Holden Monaro V8 pull up next to me and gave my car an unimpressed glance like they were top shit or something.. So they say "thats a nice toybox you got there mate" being the aussie smartarse pricks they were. I told them to put their money where their mouth is and race me, they arrogantly accepted of course. Little did they know they were in for a rude awakening as i have recently fitted a HKS T51r kai turbo. I cranked the handbrake up, revved it to about 4000RPM and kept it there. Judging by their blank face expressions i think they were packing brownies in their underpants just hearing the T51r spool up.

The light went green.

I put the handbrake down and got a decent launch happening with very minimal tire spin, i took the lead by about 3 car lengths, the Monaro giving all it can to catch up, but the gap kept widening with my every gear change. they eventually gave up and accepted that they got beat down.

that win deserved a cigarette.

god.. i hate holdens.

Great kill on the Holden man. But why hate the LS1 powered car? Even the Topgear guys like them

lol hehe, over here in australia every tom dick and harry owns a holden, and about 90% of the people that own them think their car is god or something, which is why i hate them, just because they have big litre motors they think it can thrash anything on the road, their head inflates wayyyyy to much. it just gets to me lol

Re: My Supra -vs- Holden Monaro CV8

Do you have any pictures of your Supra? A buddy of mine has a 1JZ in an FC RX7 with a t51r. It’s only 2.5l so he gets full spool at like 7k. He’s got some spray to help with that though.

I’m planning on going with a SP71GTQ or a SPSSGT800W as soon as I get some more money for the fuel upgrades.

Hahaha, nice kill man. Friggin Holden drivers, biggest bunch of cocks. I didn't know what the hate was all about until I almost got T-boned by one guy trying to drift his commodore through a round about.

Are those Monaros that fast though? I think I heard something about low 15s. Anyone know?

yes their low 15 cars, 5.7L 3rd gen v8 or something like that, not that fast... i guess they must have thought my soop was N/A or something until they realised i had turbo.

and yes i do have pictures, gotta scan them first. i'll get them up asap

Re: My Supra -vs- Holden Monaro CV8

Hah...naw, they're not low 15 second cars at all. It's basically the same the as the Pontiac GTO. More like a mid 13 sec car.

I thought that it was the same as a GTO? If so its definately a lot faster than 15s. 13.5 is more like it.

Re: My Supra -vs- Holden Monaro CV8

Good..

I love it when people are put in there f**king place. Alot of people assume right away "oh i can beat that"....until they get a taste of what some work does to cars, instead of just romping there stock vehicle.

Reminds me of when my buddy 2 years ago KILLED a 350z with his 12 second foxbody.

Fast trucks make great sleepers. But get horrible gas mileage...

Re: My Supra -vs- Holden Monaro CV8

I've got a V8 with a turbo...and believe me, my gas bill rivals Sky harbor airport's bill.
