350Z/G35 MAFS problems w/ intake?
i have a 3.5L maxima and have been having issues with my MAFS since about 2 weeks after i bought the car, when i put my intake on. i've gone through 4 Mass airflow sensors in the 2 years i've owned the car. i'm not ready to give up on nissan or the VQ35, but i've had with my 5.5 gen maxima, and am thinking about trading up to a 350Z. what i'm wondering is, have there been any issues with the 350Z or G35 as far as the mass airflow sensor blowing after installing an aftermarket intake, or even just blowing regardless of modification? any input would be helpful, guys. thanks.

No issues here either when I had the INJEN and really have not heard of issues other than maybe people having too much oil on the filter.

i have seen many people hook up maf sensors and locate them to close to them to the throttle body and I have seen the maf sensor installed after the crank case vent which will destroy a maf sensor , try to locate the sensor near the strut tower as designed from factory

Re: 350Z/G35 MAFS problems w/ intake?
i have electric parts cleaner(QB electronics cleaner) that i had been using. as far as positioning, i had the mafs pretty much right where it was stock, right after the filter and probably about 9"-12" away from the throttle body. also, i changed from a foam filter to a K&N style one to try to keep filter oil from getting on it but it would still blow. i have since put my stock airbox back on and haven't been having any problems, but i miss the sound of the intake. this is my 4th nissan, and my 2nd car with a VQ engine all of which had intakes and i've never had a MAFS problem before, it's just this car. are there any stronger aftermarket MAFS made for a VQ35?
