The whole story of the pale-green horse

well some of you new booties dont know much about me, and some have known me since i first got here.
those familiar with my car might know that its been out of commision for awhile.
well basically this girl i know has a cousin name nicole, nicole has a boyfriend name josh, josh seemed like a cool guy and we talked about cars for about an hour, he said he's been working on cars his whole life and he'd check out my car for me.
so i let him(mistake #1) he aksed m if i wanna do a compression test, and i said why not. so he starts taking things apart and finally get to do a compression test. all cylinders were pretty good for a 160,000 mile car. it waqs something like 165,155,145,145,130,100
wich most likely meant the valves needed some freshining up. well he was gonna get down to the valves and ge tthem cleaned up.
one day the girl i talk to got in a big fight with her cousin nicole. after that, the guy cam by, worked on it one more time, taking the camshafts and gears out, and lifters and all. and one day, he just never answered his phone, and never answerd his door.
i had nothing in writing(mistake #2) and all i could do is pay someone to fix it back up. my dad wants me to go to the mitsubushi dealer ship cause they'll do it right the first time and if anything is wrong after its there responsibility(thats my dad).
after 7 months its finally back working. they fixed the transfer case cause its a recall and some brake lines or something.....
car feels great. i took it out for a day and the car overheats, idiots didnt replace one of the belts, so i had to get a tow truck to tow it off the freeway back to them, they fix it free(of course, after my dad raised hell with them, he can be wild sometimes)
and finally got it back officially today. feels strong, feels stable. better than when i first had it. new water pump and timing belt.

3,100 dollars was the total cost.

if i find this guy, if i catch him in a dark alley.



lets not say, he might be able to use against me in court

the beast is back

I can see why your compression numbers were bad ... there are 6 of them. A healthy running performance car should only have 4

Yeah dads are sometimes like that. Mine still feels responsible for my car even when he almost never rides in her anymore. When i have a problem he'll try to fix it with the dealership without saying it to me,lol. Sometimes pretty handy if you ask me

i think im pretty lucky around here... theres a garage down the street my dads been taking cars to for 20 years and they always give us a way better deal than any dealership and they do a good job. congrats on the car

LOL yeah i'm broke for a nice while, but i got the boost working properly at 14.5 psi all the way through.

you say those numbes are horrible? why, dealership said the only prob was valves needed conditioning since one is down to 100, the rest are ok

The numbers should be pretty much the same for every cylinder, and your numbers are pretty far spread out. For example, Toyota recommends no more than a 14psi difference between cylinders for my engine. I just thought they where pretty bad, but if a Mitsubishi mechanic says it’s just the valves then I’m sure they are right.

Actually the new manufacturer specific for cars nowadays is supposed to be a 25% difference either way. I supposed Toyota could be different though. But i'm pretty sure as long as all the cylinders are within 25% of each other they're fine.

but 100 to 165 would be 65%...can someone explain to me what those numbers mean. I know compression ratios, but 100-165 are not the numbers I understand...
