It was easy!

First of all. If you don't have experience lowering cars. this may be difficult. I did it in a shop with air tools. Took about an hour.

The company that makes the kit is Apex. www.apexsprings.com I bought the kit from www.philsinc.com

Phil's inc and Apex websites both say that the springs only fit 1989-1998. This is wrong. The 1999 Chevy tracker has the same spring fitment as the older Geo trackers.

Yes its a 4X4. everybody keeps asking me why lower a 4X4. I say why not.

It handles really nice. Don't have that "I am tipping over" feeling around corners anymore

I haven't had any problems

Unless someone tells me otherwise. This is the way I see it. A 4X4 is designed so that the differential has room to go up. Before I lowered it, I went 4bying and went over some pretty harsh trails. All the time giving the suspension a work out. Never hit the differntial.

As for the 2.75". I don't know if thats the exact measurment. The websites said 70mm which equalls 2.75" I will let you be the judge. I should have pics up Sunday night. Have to get them developed

Did you have to get an alignment? What size tires are you gonna get?

I would love to have the bodykit from APIO but I figured it out that it would cost about $1650.00 for the kit without shipping if we could even get it. That and I would like to get the grill w/o the crosshairs but then I would need to buy the Vitara headlights too.

Alingment

I havent gotten an alignment yet, but yes it should be done. Unless you want to roast your tires really quick. Our trackers are cool though. The rear doesn't need to be aligned because its a solid axle. The camber on the front isnt to bad. Plus I don't drive that far either. I am going to wait until I get my wheels and tires to get an alignment.

As for that body kit. I sent them a letter about a week ago. We shall see if it gets there. I also tried faxing Yoshi Nakano the overseas comunication staff at (81-467-76-3266) No Luck. I think there is some kind of Country area code. If you ever can get that kit. Let me know. I would save my money for it. I will let you know if I ever get it.
