wont stay in overdrive

when i start down the road on the way to work. i always get to the same spot when i feel the car kick out of overdrive. it will only go back into overdrive when im on a down hill coast, but once i push on the gas it will go back to drive. please help

sorry everyone it is a 1995 z34 monte carlo. the guy i bought it from just had the transmission fluid changed and said it was shifting fine

Well i would say that you need to get it into a shop to look at the tranny. there are all kinds of things that could be wrong with it. I have had several transmissions in my 1995 monte z34 and i have had like 4 trannys in my car and it is in the shop right now getting the 5th. Make sure it is a good shop because one of the guys i went to replaced it with an older transmission that was totally wrong and it burned though in like 6 months. i had the problem you described with almost everyone of them it was kinda a warning sign. check out this other post on trannys.
