Parts In Japan

I'm just curious, I've heard people say that parts are really cheap in Japan, but how cheap? Are we talking 20% less or 20% of the price? And is this just for used parts or are new parts cheap to?

when they say cheap, they mean DIRT cheap. i saw a dvd where some guys were shoppin in a store, which was the the equivalent of Wal-Mart, except the tuner version with nothing but parts. Up-Garage. there was the center tailight peice that had 180sx on it, $4. a kouki 180sx front bumper, $150. so on and so on. i've seen on another dvd, theres this used car dealership called GT.net they sell badass cars like GT-Rs, Silvias and stuff like that, PLUS they have a parts section so when you buy a car from them, you can also choose what parts you want the car to come with, like exhaust and etc. so yea, compared to prices over here, their shit is cheap, its mainly the cost to import their stuff to over hear that makes japanese parts so exspensive.

Is GT.net a website? cause it doesn't work. So if you go over there to buy a pile of stuff, you could come out even with a free trip?

Re: Parts In Japan

I wonder if I can post things up on the Japanese section of ebay because I dont know if you guys have thought about this, but I heard that its like this in Japan. I mean, people in Japan are looking for USDM shit just like we are looking for JDM shit. I don't know if its true or not, but I wouldn't doubt it. Damn, lol. That would be weird.

Re: Parts In Japan

new japanese parts are pretty much the same price.. the only difference is the shipping/handling here... and the quality in Japan. They have superior quality hence the price mark ups but it's worth it. As for used parts.. yes, they have really good deals. Many owners change cars every 4 years due to vehicle tax regulations.

Plus the used parts are in good condition because many of them know how to treat a car before they go out and try stupid shiet. Try looking at yahoo Japan's auction... they have ridiculous amounts of old R32's, FD's, and of course... tons of parts.
