New Trans for the V6

Ok... ...my other question related to my previous thread:

That year (98) V6 wasn't available in manual transmission as far as I know - is there a standard (5 or 6speed) tranny that will fit this motor -- or do i have to suck it up and live with an automatic?

Re: New Trans for the V6

I asked a few people and since there hasn't been a manual tranny that was built for that motor or any similar motors that you are stuck with the auto.

I was thinking though, you might be able to fab up an adapter plate so that the bell housing bolts up to the motor, but I still don't know what tranny you would use.

Re: New Trans for the V6

I thought the 01+ CL Type-S used a J series motor (J32A2?) and a 6-speed manual? Does that transmission not bolt up to the J30A1?

Re: New Trans for the V6

Is it a J series motor? More than likely it'll bolt up to it if it is. The Type S did come with a 6 speed, I have no clue what motor it used though. J32 could essentially be a bored out J30.

Ive seen ride of Ludegurl in prelude forum. I think it is an accord v6 with 6 speed tranny.

maybe it just was a bad luck week

This is not JDMgirly but yes that 3.0 honda v6 up there is J30A1.

Are you trying to swap from auto tranny to 6 speed?

Try this link http://www.ecoparts.com/locations.htm for your part request. I think they're the largest auto wrecking junkyard in the US and they will find and ship the part to your door.
