Stereo Installation - No dash lights

HI all, ive just put a new headunit in a friends celica, now her dash lights wont work, ive checked all the fuses but they are all alright..
so its not a fuse, does the dash light wire that connects to the old stereo have to be hooked up maybe? any ideas will be appreciated.

thanks

no the old thing doesnt need to be plugged, i dont see why your dass lights wouldnt work. i guess this is a weird electrical question, and that is not my profession. Have fun figuring it out.....

wut year is the car. if you didn't buy a wireing harnest for it and just cut the wires and spiced them then you need to take it to tweeters because you have just cuase the power source to the dash lights i hade that problem with my firneds car.

I installed a JVC headunit in my car about 5 months ago...i had to buy a new wiring harness (7$) and splice the wires to it. i didnt have any problems with the lights or the ground wire. It might be that you could have accidently cut one of the wires else where and didnt notice it.

I always run new wires, gound and power when I stick in my stereo. Just to stay away from problems like these. Electrical problems can be a bitch to figure out, if at all. Not much of an answer but keep that in mind next time you add a stereo.

When you turn off alll lights, and regardless if the is running or not, do the parking lights come on?
