Angry '93 dead - CPS? Help I am stuck at school on Friday

Help!

I stalled yet again, but this time it would not restart.

I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, ignition coil (which was slightly cracked), plugs and wires - and it seems as if it were fixed. I started driving it again and only had a few “burps” (tried to die – rpms almost dropped to zero) in the last few days, but no stalls. As I pulled off the freeway this morning it burped and I drove a half mile more and it died.

Thought it might be the CPS? It might be a shot in the dark and cost about $60.

If anyone has some input I would love to hear it?
Thanks

HI CAN YOU HEAR THE FUEL PUMP CLICK WHEN YOU TURN KEY ON? WHEN YOU SAY BURPS DOES IT ACT LIKE ITS NOT GETTING FUEL OR DOES IT JUST QUIT. CHECK IF YOU CAN HEAR FUEL PUMP RELAY. DALE QUESTIONS HOLLER [email protected]

I can hear the fuel pump come on when the key is turned. It doesn't act like a fuel problem because its not bogging down or hesitating - it just wants to shut down a very quick dip in the rpms that kinda feels like a jerk.
It does have 260K miles on it - but this is the only major problem that I've had with it.
Thanks

Some say that the CPS should be changed every 60K miles - Is this overkill? In my case should it be something that needs to be changed even if it is not the source of the problem?

I just went out to try and start it and it started like normal. Why is it stalling and only sometimes failing to start.
P.S. When it fails to start: The engine cranks fine (Batt & starter are good to go) but just not turning over.

did the iac (idle air controller) get unplugged is it carboned up on the plunger and around the air hole?

if not, i like the crank position sensor as a possibility as well.
if the wires are cracked it will be intermittent like that

HI, SOUNDS LIKE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR MAYBE GOING BAD. THERE IS NO TIME FOR CHANGING IT, I WOULD CHANGE IT BEFORE WINTER IT IS FUN WORKING IN THE COLD. DALE
