Python 1600XP

Just have been reading all of Pounchnuty's helpfull suggestions on the forums.
He has been very helpful to many people, and I was wondering if he would have time to help me.
I just had a store install a Python 1600XP remote start with alarm in my car and I'm very happy with the install.
One problem though, they would not hook up the "Defroster Output"
They said they don't do that!
I asked for the install manual and they said that is for Dealers Only.
I tried to download it from DEI web site and can't get to it.
Would you be kind and post or send me the link to the pdf for the install manual
Thank you in advance

Re: Python 1600XP

Well, there's not too much to look at on this output wire. There is a tiny 5-pin plug on one side of the brain. Well, there is a little blue/white wire that has a neg. output. You will need to use a relay no matter if you need a - or + output.
Now, if you use this circuit, it will work always every time you remote start the car. So, if you like to use the RS in the summer, it will work. Personally, I like to use the 2nd channel output (red/white wire on main harness) as the defroster trigger. Reason is that YOU can control it to come on or off via remote. Of course you can only use it if you do not have power trunk release because that's what this circuit usually is for.

Pretty sad that your DEI dealer passed on a few extra $$ unless your car isn't compatible to do this. Some cars especially european cars can be very difficult to do this on.

Wow!! Thanks for the fast response! 2nd channel seeems to be the idea way to do the hook up. Can't do it that way on the 2004 Sonata as I really like the trunk pop on the remote, But also have the same system on a 2004 Santa Fe, think I'll try it on that one.
Sure would be nice to have a copy of the whole install manual.
Would a link be possible?
Thanks again.
